"The Buffalo Bills drafted wide receiver James Hardy for one primary reason - to help them score touchdowns in the red zone.
The rookie came through in a big way in just his second NFL game today as he caught a 7-yard touchdown pass from Trent Edwards with 4:10 left to play, giving the Bills a 20-16 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Hardy's catch capped a 74-yard drive that was highlighted by a 37-yard Edwards to Lee Evans pass one play before.
Rian Lindell tacked on a 45-yard field goal with 24 seconds to go to put the victory away and give Buffalo its first 2-0 start since 2003.
The Bills got off to a great start as they took the opening kickoff and marched 82 yards in 11 plays with Marshawn Lynch crashing up the middle on an 11-yard touchdown run.
Edwards (20 of 25, 239 yards) completed all six of his pass attempts on the drive for 53 yards, and he went on to complete his first 10 passes of the half before misfiring on his last two.
The Jaguars pulled within 7-3 on the fourth play of the second quarter as Josh Scobee kicked a 28-yard field goal, but the Bills answered that with a 77-yard drive that was capped by Rian Lindell's 21-yard field goal. Edwards completed a 33-yard swing pass to Fred Jackson for the big play of the march.
Jacksonville was driving for a possible tying score late in the first half, but Terrence McGee intercepted a David Garrard pass in the end zone."
