INDIANAPOLIS — The agent for Titans receiver Brandon Jones said Friday he expects his client to test free agency.
Agent Craig Domann has talked with the Titans about a long-term deal for Jones at the NFL Combine, but at this point believes it's in his best interest to see what other teams might offer. The free agency period begins Feb. 27.
Jones caught 41 passes for 449 yards and a touchdown last season, his fourth with the Titans.
"We're going to continue to have dialogue with the Titans, but at this point it appears we're going to get an opportunity to test the market,'" Domann said. "I am excited for Brandon to get an opportunity to test the free agent market and possibly have an opportunity to catch more balls in an offense that throws more often.'"
Harper has surgery: Cornerback Nick Harper recently underwent abdominal surgery, his agent confirmed Friday.
An abdominal muscle was causing discomfort in one of his legs. Although Harper will be slowed in the early stages of the team's conditioning program, which begins March 26, he should be available for minicamps in May and June.
Harper, an eight-year veteran, had 80 tackles and two interceptions in 2008.
Not true: The agent for Justin McCareins shot down an ESPN.com report that the Titans had re-signed the veteran receiver.
